Tanit XR - Cultural Heritage
Immersive 3D animation tool with radial time slider and simplified interface

Tanit XR is Tunisia’s first open-source archive of endangered artifacts. The project scans and preserves ancient statues, mosaics, and archaeological sites of Carthage and Tunisia—heritage dating back nearly 3,000 years—turning them into accessible digital art. The team is building an open-access digital archive and preparing virtual/AR museum experiences to help Tunisians appreciate and share their cultural heritage globally. The volunteer network includes engineers, designers, and cultural advocates contributing in-kind expertise valued in the thousands of dollars.
50+ artifacts scanned across 10+ sites; collaborations with Sketchfab, USF, and INP.
Mentorship and training for new volunteers to learn scanning and archiving.
